Concentrated solutions are highly toxic and very strong irritants. Hazard: Dangerous fire and explosion risk, strong oxidizing agent. Use: Bleaching and deodorizing of textiles, wood, pulp, hair, fur, etc. Also used as an antiseptic or in refining and cleaning metals. Sometimes used as a substitute for chlorine in water and sewage treatment.
